The escalation was particularly evident on Friday, August 25th, as Taiwan's defense ministry reported five Chinese ships conducting battle readiness patrols in the vicinity, accompanied by 13 planes entering Taiwan's designated "response" zone. China's increasing military pressure on Taiwan, which it claims as part of its territory, has been an ongoing issue for the past three years.
