  The central banks  of South Korea and Indonesia have recently announced plans to reduce their reliance on the US dollar in their international transactions. This move is aimed at diversifying their foreign reserves and reducing their exposure to the risks associated with a single dominant currency. The Bank of Korea has announced that it plans to increase its holdings of Chinese yuan and Japanese yen, as well as gold, in an effort to reduce its reliance on the US dollar.
