The incident took place against the backdrop of ongoing challenges faced by the nation, including the aftermath of Typhoon Doksuri. The speed boat, identified as the 'Fadi Laminusa Express,' was carrying three passengers when disaster struck. A fire ignited from the fuel tank and battery of the vessel, prompting the PCG's immediate response.
