Tan, a seasoned veteran with over two decades of experience, previously served as CEO of Cadence Design Systems and was a member of Intel’s board until August 2024. This leadership change comes at a critical juncture for Intel, which has faced significant challenges, including loss of market share and strategic missteps. The company’s stock, which had declined by 60% in 2024, surged by 12% following the announcement of Tan’s appointment.
