During the United Nations Security Council open debate on famine and conflict-induced global food insecurity, Indian ambassador Ruchira Kamboj emphasized India's proactive approach in assisting its partners during times of distress. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, India extended significant food aid, including thousands of metric tonnes of wheat, rice, pulses, and lentils to various countries, particularly in Africa, to bolster food security .
