LA Tenorio is battling Stage Three colon cancer

LA Tenorio, a guard for Barangay Ginebra in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), has announced that he has been diagnosed with stage three colon cancer.

The news comes after he missed PBA Governors’ Cup games with the Gin Kings and underwent surgery for what was previously described as an aggravated sports hernia.

Tenorio has apologized for keeping his diagnosis a secret and not disclosing the true cause of his absence from games earlier this month. He has vowed to fight his cancer with the help of doctors from the Philippines and Singapore, and expressed confidence that he will recover and return to the game he loves.

Tenorio's streak of 744 consecutive games played, the longest in PBA history, was ended by his absence earlier this month.
