In a bid to secure a strong position in the upcoming Prime Minister election, Cholnan Srikaew, leader of the Pheu Thai Party, has revealed ambitious plans for an eight-party coalition aiming to amass 375 votes. The coalition, consisting of the Pheu Thai Party, the third incarnation of a prominent Thai political party, and several other key players, seeks to gather the required 376 votes from both the House of Representatives and the Senate to propel a Prime Minister from its ranks into office.
Cholnan Srikaew's announcement came during an interview with Nation TV on Monday, shedding light on the party's strategic approach to formulating a robust alliance. The Pheu Thai Party has been engaging in discussions with influential political entities, including the Bhum Jai Thai Party, Palang Pracharath, United Thai Nation party, Chart Thai Pattana, and Chart Pattana Kla parties.
The Pheu Thai Party, with its current 312 votes, is diligently exploring ways to bolster its electoral support and ensure that its nominee for Prime Minister stands a strong chance of success. By aiming for a significant increase in votes, the party underscores its determination to wield considerable influence within the political landscape.
