Indonesia Introduces Golden Visa Policy to Attract Foreign Investments and Talent




Indonesia is set to launch a promising new initiative, the Golden Visa policy, aimed at encouraging foreign investments and attracting highly skilled individuals to the country. According to Tempo, the policy will grant visa waivers to foreign companies making real investments of at least $50 million and to individuals investing a minimum of $350,000 in government bonds.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, announced that the policy's issuance is expected within the next one to two weeks. The minister revealed that discussions with President Joko Widodo and other key ministers have already taken place, setting the stage for its implementation.

Initially focusing on researchers from leading universities and other highly knowledgeable foreigners, the Golden Visas will eventually extend their scope to include artificial intelligence developers—an intriguing move that highlights Indonesia's commitment to technological advancement and innovation.
