In a significant move to address pressing national security concerns, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the President of the Philippines, has reportedly given the green light for the adoption of the National Security Policy (NSP) 2023-2028. This decisive step underscores the government's commitment to safeguarding the country's security landscape.

Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil, Secretary of the Presidential Communications Office of the Philippines, confirmed the President's endorsement, revealing that the policy was officially signed and approved on August 10. The NSP 2023-2028 is poised to tackle a range of national security challenges that demand strategic and concerted efforts.

The official announcement from Malacañang Palace, the presidential residence and primary workspace, elaborated on the details. President Marcos, through Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, sealed the approval by signing Executive Order (EO) 37. As part of this directive, Marcos, who also serves as the Secretary of Agriculture, issued instructions for national government agencies and instrumentalities to align their security-related strategies with the NSP 2023-2028.
