UAE Achieves Global Milestone in Gender Equality: Ranks 7th in UNDP Index

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has marked a significant advancement in gender balance, securing the seventh position globally in the Gender Inequality Index 2024, as reported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). This remarkable rise from its previous ranks - 49th in 2015 and 11th in 2022 - underscores the nation's steadfast commitment to fostering gender equality and inclusivity.

Announcing this achievement during the ongoing 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women in New York, the UNDP commended the UAE's progress in narrowing gender disparities. The UAE Gender Balance Council, actively participating in the event, plays a pivotal role in driving initiatives aimed at empowering women and promoting their participation across various sectors.

HH Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, attributed this global recognition to the visionary leadership's unwavering dedication and the continuous support provided by HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, known as the Mother of the Nation.
