UAE becomes global leader in human fraternity and tolerance efforts




Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, thanked President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his steadfast support in furthering the cause of global human fraternity as the world commemorates the International Day of Human Fraternity. Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the importance of the historic Document on Human Fraternity, which was released in Abu Dhabi in 2019, in his introductory remarks at the Abu Dhabi Human Fraternity Majlis. The United Nations subsequently accepted the document, which was signed by His Holiness Pope Francis and His Eminence Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb, and declared February 4th to be International Human Fraternity Day. This historic event demonstrates the UAE's dedication to promoting world peace and understanding.

World leaders, Nobel laureates, policymakers, youth leaders, and changemakers from 20 countries came together for the event, which was organized by the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity in partnership with the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, the Muslim Council of Elders, the Abrahamic Family House, the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, and the World Summit of Nobel Laureates for Peace. The event demonstrated the UAE's crucial role in uniting disparate viewpoints to debate and advance the ideals of peace, tolerance, and fraternity. Under President Mohamed bin Zayed's direction, the United Arab Emirates remains a global leader in humanitarian endeavors.
