 Andrew Cross, widely recognized by his online alias “Desert Drifter,” passed away on March 4, 2025, at the age of 36. His death followed a traumatic brain injury sustained in a car accident on January 31, 2025. The incident occurred in Colorado when a van collided with Cross’s vehicle at a stoplight, resulting in a brain bleed that led to his hospitalization and subsequent placement on life support.

Throughout his hospitalization, Cross’s family provided updates on his condition via a CaringBridge site. His wife, Evelyn, and sister, Jenna, expressed gratitude for the support and prayers from fans and the broader community. A GoFundMe campaign was also established to assist with medical expenses, reflecting the widespread support for Cross and his family during this challenging period.

On March 4, after weeks in critical condition, Cross was removed from life support. His sister, Jenna, described his passing as “peaceful and full of love,” with family and close friends present. In a gesture of respect, the ICU staff facilitated a final walk around the unit for Cross, honoring his life and legacy.

The driver of the van involved in the accident, identified as Ragnar Nickolas Kristl, faces multiple charges, including vehicular homicide and driving under the influence. Legal proceedings are ongoing, with Kristl scheduled to appear in court on March 12.
