Samsung Galaxy S26 Leaks Confirm Price Hike as Launch Nears

Reliable leaks from Korean media confirm that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series will see a noticeable price increase, driven primarily by rising global memory and component costs. The Galaxy S26 lineup—consisting of the S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra—will be officially unveiled at Samsung Unpacked on February 25, 2026, in San Francisco.

According to reports, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could exceed ₩2 million KRW (approximately $1,500), a significant jump from the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s $1,299 price point. Samsung reportedly attempted to absorb part of the cost surge but acknowledged that certain increases were unavoidable.

The base Galaxy S26 is expected to retail between $799 and $859, while the S26 Plus may land between $999 and $1,059. Pre-orders in Asia are set to begin on February 26, with global retail availability starting March 11, 2026.

Despite limited design changes, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, improved camera systems, and refined AI features. However, some pre-order perks—such as expanded storage upgrades—may be reduced due to higher production costs.

Samsung’s strategy places the S26 series firmly in the premium Android category, setting the stage for direct competition with Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup.
